Macarons, attempt One.
Remember how I said I wanted to bake more in my new years post? Well I tested out my skills over the weekend, with the most hardest (well to me they are all equally hard, this was just extremely hard) dessert, french macarons.
I am in love with Raiza, she appeared on the American MasterChef, and I subscribe to her channel on youtube – dulce delight. This attempt was inspired by her recipe.
Ok, I must admit, baking isn’t as easy as it seems. You need to have a lot of patience, attention and love. My macarons got done only half way. Having a toddler running around your feet as you try to mix ingredients together doesn’t help this process at all. When I managed to calm Lutfi down, I continued with my macarons, then got distracted again. So I give myself a 7 of 10 for completing part 1 of this recipe – the macaron shells. I am yet to get myself up again with part 2 – the filling.
Jeff was a very pleased man, and he was not disappointed at all. He ate the macaron shells without filling of course and said he would score me a 10 of 10. Bless that mans heart. I love him.
