Penang I (The Journey)
I am enjoying this holiday way too much especially cause we get to go on a another holiday with my besties. What more could a girl ask for? Well.. lets not go there, cause I'm sure I can think of a list of things I want that Jeff will not be agreeing freely too.
Last year we went to Pangkor Island, it was beautiful, and relaxing, some what interesting. To revisit that memory, click here, for a quick blast to the past. It was our first trip together as a group. And it definitely wasn't to be our last.
So about 3 months before our trip, we've argued, research, argued again, surveyed and settled on our next destinations within Malaysia to have our next holiday trip. This year we decided to give Penang a go. We've all been there before separately, not as a group.
So the reasons why we chose Penang over another island vacation is that I wanted to go on a food hunt and Penang is well known for that indeed. Plus one of my bestie Ona, was extremely excited to check out the Street Arts. In the nooks of Georgetown, there are some obvious and some hidden murals painted by Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic. Jeff and I enjoyed some murals, where we tried to interpret stories and meanings behind the paintings.
I am getting ahead of myself again..
So we took our 5 hour drive up north of Malaysia, got on a ferry and traveled across to Penang Island. Then got lost looking for our accommodation, which I must say was extravagant. We booked our stay at Shamrock Batu Ferringhi, a 3 level house with 6, yes 6 air conditioned bedrooms. And was walking distance to the beach, and a nearby laksa hawker. It was to die for.
Over the 3 days 2 nights we were in Penang (which I must admit, was not long enough) we managed to go to Bukit Bendera, Georgetown township twice or maybe 3 times,
Now onto some photographic memories. Enjoy! xx
