Happy 4th Birthday Lutfi Yusuf
Happy 4th birthday, my dear son, Lutfi Yusuf. I dedicate this post to you.
Dear Lutfi,
The past year has been such an astonishing year for you and of course for papa and I. We have seen you grow and develop so much more than the year before. And to commemorate that, I want to share with you these moments so that they are remembered forever of what you have become, what you have gained, and what you have developed.
And when you feel like you're sadden or heavy hearted, read your accomplishments below and I hope you pick yourself up, and stay cheerful as you have been the past year.
- braver - jumping using both feet off the ground, off the stairs, off the chair, and off coffee tables
- braver - climbing on tables, chairs, sofas (where we normally sit our backs too.. yes there), kitchen island, kitchen bench tops..
- toilet trained - still can't go by yourself and relies on an adult. although so, no more nappies!
- speech - speaks more than 200 words clearly, in addition to the previous year.
- speech - words regularly said: wake up (used everyday at 5.30am), chocolate (favourite word), let's go, come on, oh no, watch out, be careful and ready, steady, go!
- speech - has said 'Mama, I love you' 7 times (I know you love me, wish you said it more often. although when said, it's always been out of the blue, which makes it more special.. okay I shall stop complaining)
- religion - can recite the dua before meals
- school - attending kindergarten
- school - gets excited and wants to leave home 15 minutes before school gate opens
- school - still cries when dropped off
- school - gets excited to come home
- favourite food - Nutella sandwich
- favourite song - if you're happy and you know it & 5 little monkeys
- favourite toy/s - disney pixar cars & animal soft toys
- favourite saying - watch out, be careful
- favourite drink - orange juice
- favourite movie - Curious George
- favourite book - Elephant dance by Sue Whiting
- favourite word - chocolate
- playtime - you have developed imaginary play.. most of the time, you make your cars fly or crash one another..
- playtime - you love soft toys, which are all animals. every time we go to the flea market you will somehow come home with 3 soft toys
- numbers - you can count up to 30 but I'm sure you could count to 100 without us noticing
- alphabets - l, m, n, o, p are the letters you sing so fast at that we just love the way its mumbled/pronounced out
- colours - knows all the colours (i must admit its because of youtube)
- shapes - cylinder, hexagon, cube, octagon are the new shapes you've learnt the past year
- writing - dislikes holding colour pencils to draw, writing your name is a challenge
- arts & craft - loves to paint, hand painting is your favourite.
- building blocks - within the past year, you have widen your imaginary by building castles and different types of towers, instead of just the straight towers with one type of block
- you also have learnt to follow instructions (which was a worry when you first started school) but nevertheless you have made both papa and I proud.
Papa and I pray everyday that you become a righteous person. Always remember to become an individual with differences and uniqueness, grow at your own pace, become someone smart and can offer greatness to the world.
